Frequently asked questions
What are your fees and payment options?
My session fee is $215 for a 50-minute therapy session, with payment processed at the time of your session via all major credit cards.
While I don't accept insurance directly, I provide superbills for clients with out-of-network benefits and partner with Thrizer to simplify the reimbursement process. Many clients reduce their costs by 50% or more using OON benefits from providers like Aetna, Cigna, and BCBS. I'm happy to offer a personalized estimate of your session cost using your OON benefits—just reach out.
I also offer a limited number of sliding scale spots based on financial need. If my standard fee presents a barrier, please don't hesitate to inquire about availability.
Do you meet with clients in person or virtually?
I offer both in-person and virtual therapy sessions. Whether we meet face-to-face or online, my goal is to create a space where you feel grounded, supported, and comfortable doing this work.
I see clients in two Manhattan office locations:
Upper East Side – 86th St & Lexington Ave, just steps from the 4/5/6, Q trains and several major bus lines.
NoMad/Midtown – 30th St & 5th Ave, easily accessible from Penn Station, Grand Central, PATH trains, and multiple subway lines (A/C/E, N/Q/R/W, 1/2, F/M, and 6) and several buses.
For virtual sessions, I use a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform that you can easily access from home. Due to licensing laws, virtual sessions are available only for clients located in New York State.
What can I expect from our first therapy session?
Our first session is all about getting to know you. It’ll be a bit more structured than future sessions, as I’ll ask questions about your background, past experiences with therapy (if any), and what’s bringing you in. We’ll also talk about your goals and start shaping what our work together will look like.
After that, sessions will feel more open and tailored to your needs—less structured, more like a conversation. I’ll still be actively involved, offering guidance and support, but you’ll have the space to bring in what feels most important to you. Some weeks, you might come in with something specific on your mind; other times, we’ll explore emerging patterns, themes, and insights together. Either way, you won’t have to navigate it alone—I’ll always be there to help us find the path forward.
How often will we meet for sessions, and how long does therapy last?
I typically recommend starting with weekly sessions, especially in the beginning, as we get to know each other, establish your goals, and build a strong foundation for our work together.
Most of my clients continue meeting weekly, as consistency is key to meaningful progress. Over time, depending on your needs and goals, we may explore biweekly or monthly sessions if that feels right. My approach is always collaborative—we’ll find a rhythm that works for you.
As for how long therapy lasts, that’s deeply personal. Some clients find relief within a few months, while others benefit from longer-term support. We’ll check in regularly to make sure therapy continues to feel valuable, and if the time comes to step away or take a break, we’ll navigate that together.
What's your cancellation policy for sessions?
Committing to our time together is essential for your progress in therapy. When we begin working together, we both agree to reserve this time each week for your care. I understand that life happens, and sometimes appointments need to shift. My cancellation policy is designed to be fair and flexible while also honoring our commitment to this work.
48-Hour Notice Required
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice to avoid a $100 late cancellation fee.
Attendance Policy
You may cancel up to 3 sessions per year in advance without needing to reschedule. After that, any additional cancellations will need to be rescheduled or will incur the $100 cancellation fee.
Fee Waivers
Each client receives two fee waivers per year, which can be used at their discretion for last-minute cancellations or if they choose not to reschedule after exceeding their 3 advance cancellations.
Note: If you cancel in advance but reschedule, or if you use a fee waiver, it won’t count toward your 3 annual cancellations.
How do I get started?
Get started by filling out the contact form on my website, and we’ll schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation call. You can also browse and reserve a call time directly here.
During this call, we’ll discuss what you’re looking for in therapy, explore any questions you may have, and determine whether we’re the right fit to work together. If we decide to move forward, we’ll confirm an appointment time, and you’ll receive your intake paperwork electronically to complete before our first session.
I look forward to connecting and supporting you in this next step!
